An existing four storey Grade II listed building to be converted from office use to a hotel with bars at ground and basement levels.
A change of use from an office to a hotel requires an upgrade in the level of fire separation in the building. This needed to be achieved in accordance with the listed status of the building.
Innovation Fire Engineering specified a design with an L1 fire detection and alarm system and automatic ventilation or watermist system to mitigate the limited lobby protection to the single stair at ground floor level.
Our fire strategy enabled the former office to be converted to a hotel and provided the level of fire safety required within the constraints of the listed building status.
