Project
An iconic corner street entertainment and dining space set into the hillside with bars, restaurants and roof terrace. Due to the nature of the site and the premises being partly built into the hillside both the ground floor and roof terrace had access directly onto a road.

Challenges
Fire service access, the requirement to maximise occupancy numbers and reduce extended single direction travel distances on the ground floor. In addition, the need to mitigate the potential for fire spread from the fully glazed front of the building.

Solutions
Innovation Fire Engineering provided options for reducing the extended single direction travel distances, specified which stairs and routes needed to be protected in order to maximise the occupancy levels in the building and provided options for mitigating the risk of external fire spread.
