Meet Shyam Patel, Principal Fire Engineer at Innovation Fire Engineering.

Shyam combines technical expertise, creative problem solving and a passion for delivering safe, innovative design solutions.

With experience across residential, commercial, industrial and educational projects, Shyam specialises in performance-based fire engineering, working closely with design teams and authorities to help bring architectural visions to life while ensuring fire safety compliance.

When asked what he enjoys most about his role, the answer was simple: the people. Outside of work, you'll often find Shyam playing 5 or 7-a-side football or taking on a bouldering wall whenever he gets the chance.

One fact many people may not know about Shyam is that he once had long hair, which he donated to the Little Princess Trust, helping provide real hair wigs to children and young people experiencing hair loss due to cancer and other conditions.
