James Finley CPMG Architects

“I worked with James on a University of Nottingham project, the Humanities Building, which combined academic, office, specialist laboratories and administrative spaces within four-storeys with the plant room located on the fourth floor. James was appointed by Clegg Construction Ltd to provide a fire engineered solution and the resultant recommendations enabled the University to optimize their use of the building, giving them greater in-use flexibility and additionally saving on the construction costs.

Building Control had no issues with the fire report recommendations and went so far as to praise the logical layout of the report, particularly the section on final exit doors.

During the comparatively short time that I worked with James, I found him to be pro-active, knowledgeable, professional and thorough in carrying out his duties and always a pleasure to deal with

Innovation quickly got up to speed with a very complex building and helped us implement effective and economical strategies to satisfy the concerns of the local fire and building control officers.  I would have no hesitation in recommending their appointment to other design teams.

“Innovation Fire Engineering Ltd was appointed by Croskeep Ltd to complete a fire strategy report on the proposed alterations to the basement car park at Maylord Shopping Centre in Hereford.

The fire strategy report was produced quickly and efficiently and advised Croskeep Limited in a professional manner, enabling what seemed to be a controversial scheme to be successfully implemented without any real problems.”

Fuse Youth Centre

“Innovation Fire Engineering worked with us on ‘the FUSE’ Youth centre in Trafford, one of ‘My Place’ projects funded by ‘Big lottery’. It was a great benefit to the scheme that Innovation Fire Engineering were involved at the early stages of the project before Building Regulations, to help us produce a feasible cost effective design.

They provided us with an excellent service throughout, from promptly providing solutions to justifying changes in the design, to helping us reduce the project costs with their creative and flexible solutions. I would highly recommend working with them, if you want to reduce the constraints on the building design whilst reducing project cost”.
